Preaching a parable

A Welsh preacher took as his text the parable of the five wise and five foolish virgins.

Having explained at length the meaning of the parable and the fundamental moral choice implicit in it, he ended his sermon with a fine peroration and asked his congregation

"And where would you rather be? With the wise virgins in the light ... or with the foolish virgins in the dark?"
