A future abode in heaven

In the Afan valley one of their many ruling passions is pigeon-flying.

One ex-miner in the valley was visited when on his deathbed by the local minister who spoke to him about his future abode in heaven.

"Do you expect to go there?" asked the dying man.

"Yes," replied the minister.

"And will you be an angel?"

"Yes."

"With wings?".

"Yes."

"And shall I also be an angel if I get to heaven?"

"Yes," said the minister emphatically.

"Well then, I'll race you for a pound!"
