The English geologist

An English geologist interested in the Ordovician rocks of mid-Wales saw an interesting outcrop while on a stroll through the countryside one Sunday.

Taking out his pocket hammer he began to chip away at the exposed rocks.

"What are you doing here?" demanded an old woman who had been watching him in amazement.

"Can't you see, I'm breaking this stone", he replied.

"You're doing more than that, you're breaking the Sabbath" came her retort.
