How are you getting on?
The Chairman of a Welsh education committee called one of his junior officials
into his office at County Hall.
"How are you getting on now?" he asked him kindly. "Is everybody
treating you well in the office and are you fitting yourself for better things?"
"Oh, I think so," said the young official modestly.
"Well," said the great man, "I'm going to make you Director
of Education. What do you think of that?"
"I'm quite overwhelmed", said the youngster. "It really is
good of you Dad."
